Aurora
Aurora Aksnes was born on 15 June 1996 in Stavanger Norway. Professionally known as Aurora and often stylized with lowercase letters, such in the form of AURORA. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves by Decca Records was released on May 15, 2015, receiving rave reviews from both music bloggers as well as from the press. She's recorded a variety of well-known songs as covers, like Half the World Away (by Oasis) for the Christmas advert. Oasis) to accompany John Lewis' Christmas advert as well as Nature Boy (by Nat King Cole) and are widely loved. Katy Perry, who endorsed the track Runaway by her, also gave the song a boost of recognition. It was her birthday. Aurora Aksnes first musical memory was finding a keyboard in her loft and being fascinated by its music. Jan Oystein Aksnes and May-Britt Aksnes encouraged Aurora to study music, not as work or for a passion and as a way to improve. The Aksnes family encouraged her to compose. Her influences include renowned writers Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan in addition to her love of Bjork's style. To counter her mother's suggestion that she shouldn't be trying to become famous with her songwriting, but instead recognize the significance of their lives and the impact they have on society. When she began playing the piano, she was just six and started writing songs at the age of nine. The family members didn't know about it until she turned fourteen. Aurora's accomplishments were never the goal of her. The only thing she loves is writing songs. Music is her preferred method of feeling anything.
