Anika Noi Rose Anika Noi Rose, an American actor and singer, is a renowned name in the entertainment industry. She is best known for voicing Tiana the first Disney African-American princess in The Princess and the Frog. Disney Legend was bestowed upon her in the year 2011. Rose appeared in Lorrell Robinson, her character in the Academy Award winning film Dreamgirls. Anika Noni rose (born on the 6th September 1973) is an American actor and vocalist. Best known as the voice for Tiana in The Princess and the Frog as the first African American Disney princess. Disney named her a legend in 2011. She is best known for the role of Lorrell Robinson in the Academy Award-winning movie Dreamgirls (2006), and her performance as LaVerne the Jukebox Ganner in the Starz television series Power. Alongside her acting work, she's known for the roles she was in the theatre. This includes Emmie Thibodeaux in the Broadway version of Caroline or Change (2005) for which she was awarded the Tony Award Best Features Actress in A Musical was awarded and Beneatha in the Broadway revival of A Raisin in the Sun (2017) in which she received the Tony Award Best Features Actress in Play nominations were made.
