A human adult or animal is one who has grown in all its potential. For humans, the term adult has meanings associated with moral and social concepts. As opposed to someone who is not considered to be an adult or "minor" an legal adult is a person who has reached the age of majority that makes them independent competent, responsible, and capable. It is also possible to view them as an "major". The age of 18 is as the age of legal maturity, however, this definition may differ according to the nation, lawful rights or mental development.

The lifespan of a human being, adulthood refers to the age when a person attains full intellectual and physical maturation. Adulthood usually begins when a person reaches the age of 21. The typical middle-age is around 40 years old. It is followed by a period of around 60. The three phases of adulthood include early adulthood (from mid-30s to late-60s) mid-adulthood between mid-30s to late-60s and later adulthood, (mid-60s through death). In the early years of adulthood, our body has reached its full physical maturity. But, the height and our weight can increase. In the early years of adulthood, we are physically at our peak. The strength of our muscles, the response timing, the ability to sense and cardiac function all reach their maximum.
